EMPLOYMENT SUCCESS
Employment Success requires flexibility and continuous upskilling. Skills used today may need to be used in new ways, or may not be sufficient for tomorrow. In basic terms, employment success is dependent on the ability to develop and apply soft skills, hard skills and life skills in the work place. However, defining "success" is a challenge. The criteria for success likely differs based on individual, business, and community perspectives yet these views of success are clearly interrelated.
Extension programs that relate to Employment Success support the following audience in the application of soft, hard, and life skills:
Individuals - example audiences include people currently employed, undergoing employment transitions, and currently not employed. This includes youth preparing to enter the workforce as well as immmigrants.
Businesses - this includes programs that connect resources and employee training and development to assist business competitiveness.
Communities - example programs include the planning and implementation of community based resources to support both individuals and businesses in employment success.
