- Knowledge economy employment requires a blend of skills.
- Opportunity to work with community colleges and adult education schools.
- Should we examine/ develop a hierarchy of skills. Can we break down the new basic skills?
- Need to ask employers what they need. This needs to be driven by employers.
- We can serve as a knowledge broker role.
- Focus on awareness of employment success in knowledge economy. Use literature reviews, secondary data sources, and educational programs to make Ohioans aware of issues/ opportunities in knowledge economy.
- Consider developing on-line skills assessments. Provide skills assessment resources.
- May be able to provide role in evaluation of programs that address some aspect of employment success.
- Think global; act local – based on local needs.
- Take one thing and go.
- What is important for employer AND employees? Do we have enough information?
- Need to gather relevant information to have better decision-making
- Survey business needs from workforce.
- Can we use existing BR&E data.
